HOW TO PREPARE OKPA(GROUNDED BAMBARA NUT)
1 liter of Grounded Bambara Nut
3 big spoon of Red oil
2 tbs of salt
7 pieces of Bitter leaf
6 fresh pepper
5 cups of hot water
METHOD OF PREPARATION:
Pound the fresh pepper with your mortar and pistel then add your hot water. Then the grounded bambara nut mix till you get a thick consistency then add your red oil. Then add the hot water gradually until a not too thick or watery consistency is formed. Then get your white nylon bag(up to 7)add the bitter leaf and your mixture. Tie and keep. Add about 2 liters of water a clean pot. Then wait till it boils before adding your Okpa (grounded bambara nut).
Cook for 45 minutes. To check if it is well cooked. Get a clean broom stick. Put it inside the Okpa, if it comes out stained then is not yet done .But if it comes out neat you know is well cooked. Okpa is best served hot and it goes
